HP ProLiant DL360P G8 Memory Configuration

The DL360P G8 is a Dual Processor system with 12 DIMM slots per CPU. There are four memory channels per CPU. Each memory channel manages three DIMM slots. This means the DL360P G8 will only support two Quad Rank or two unbuffered DIMMs per channel. Along with standard RDIMMs and UDIMMs, the DL360P G8 also supports options for standard or low voltage. You cannot mix different memory types. Different speeds can be mixed but the modules will function at the slowest speed installed.

Cloud Ninjas' HP ProLiant DL360P G8 Memory Upgrade Tips

  • The ProLiant DL360P G8 supports 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB DIMMs registered DDR3 DIMMs.
  • The ProLiant DL360P G8 can hold up to 384GB (24 x 16GB) system memory
  • Depending on the memory configuration and processor model, the memory speed may run at 1333MHz or 1600MHz registered DDR3 DIMMs
  • Each processor socket contains four memory channels per installed processor with three DIMMs per channel for a total of twelve (12) DIMMs or a grand total of twenty-four (24) DIMMs for the server.
  • Think Long Term! Purchase the maximum amount that your HP ProLiant DL360P G8 can hold and avoid wasting time and money on modules you won't be able to use if you upgrade again.
  • The total number of memory modules must equal 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24. To properly configure your system, install a minimum of four memory modules first.
