I corrected the population. It was written that there was 20.000 people there. That is very innacurate. Only the ones that work in the luxury hotels are much more. - I removed what was an obvious commercial paragraph added recently. It's my first edit on Wikipedia, but I do some wiki editing at work. I will try to come back as this page looks like a good project to get started on editing a page and there is some stuff of which I'm aware that is not on this page. (Sharm may be the west terminus for causeway connecting Egypt and Saudi Arabia.)

The listed pronunciation, [ˈʃɑɾˤm eʃˈʃeːx], is Arabic. Nobody who speaks English, except for the occasional Arabist, is interested in the fact that ل is followed by the sun letter ش.
